Sir Winston Churchill personal cigar. The cigar was given by Churchill to Thistle (Ces) Wells at Chartwell in 1945. The letter of provenance, below, accompanies the cigar. The cigar is a 16 cm Perfectos and carries a gold band, printed 'PERFECTOS' in black. There is no factory band and my research has failed to discover the origins of the Perfectos band (although it is very similar to the gold bands that Romeo And Juliet - Churchill's favourite brand - were producing in the 1940's). The cigar is housed in a protective plastic bag, of a later date, with the word 'Churchill' faintly stamped along its length. A rare piece of Churchill and cigar memorabilia, directly linked to the last days of the Second World War.
